넷제로아카데미, 英 탄소교육재단과 MOU 체결
넷제로아카데미가 영국의 세계적인 탄소 교육 기관인 더 카본 리터러시 트러스트 재단(이하 CLTrust)과 탄소 교육 협력을 위한 양해각서를 체결했다고 14일 밝혔다.
CLTrust는 기후 변화에 능동적으로 대응할 수 있는 교육을 제공하고 수강 후 카본 리터러시 자격 인증을 부여하는 비영리 기관이다. 현재 전 세계적으로 730개 이상의 카본 리터러시 인증 과정이 개설돼 있으며 유럽·아시아 등 33개국의 기업·정부기관·대학 등이 수강했다.
이번 협약에 따라 넷제로아카데미와 CLTrust는 국내 기업과 기관 등을 대상으로 CLTrust의 탄소 교육 프로그램인 ‘카본 리터러시TM’ 교육을 진행하게 된다. 특히 넷제로아카데미가 국내 산업, 조직, 문화적 특성을 반영한 맞춤형 탄소 교육 자료와 기후 행동 훈련 도구 개발과 관련해 자문을 제공할 예정이다.
박희원 넷제로아카데미 대표는 “이번 MOU를 통해 한국인들의 탄소 문제에 대한 경각심을 높이고 구체적인 기후행동 실천에 나서 탄소를 둘러싼 각종 위기를 지혜롭게 넘는데 도움이 되길 바란다”며 “향후 한국과 영국간의 기후 행동 및 탄소 중립에 관한 국제 민간 교류도 추진해보겠다”고 말했다.
한편 넷제로아카데미는 자연환경신탁, 유엔한반도평화번영재단 등 단체와 일부 지자체 등과도 탄소 교육 등을 준비 중이며, 이번달 공기업을 대상으로 교육을 진행할 계획이다.

Carbon Education to Be Provided for Korean Corporations and Institutions
Net Zero Academy announced on August 14 that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Carbon Literacy Trust (CLTrust), a world-renowned UK-based nonprofit organization specializing in carbon education.
CLTrust provides educational programs that empower individuals and organizations to respond proactively to climate change, awarding Carbon Literacy certifications to participants upon completion. Currently, over 730 certified Carbon Literacy courses are being offered globally, with companies, government agencies, and universities in 33 countries across Europe and Asia having taken part.
Under this agreement, Net Zero Academy and CLTrust will collaborate to deliver the Carbon Literacy™ education program in Korea, targeting domestic corporations and institutions. In particular, Net Zero Academy will receive advisory support from CLTrust in the development of customized educational materials and climate action training tools that reflect Korea’s industrial, organizational, and cultural context.
Hee-won Park, CEO of Net Zero Academy, stated:
“Through this MOU, we aim to raise awareness among Koreans about carbon-related issues and support concrete climate action that can help the country wisely navigate the various crises surrounding carbon.”
“We also plan to promote international private-sector exchange between Korea and the UK on climate action and carbon neutrality moving forward.”
Meanwhile, Net Zero Academy is currently preparing to launch carbon education programs in collaboration with organizations such as the Korea Nature Trust and the UN Korean Peninsula Peace and Prosperity Foundation, as well as several local governments. The academy also plans to begin offering training to public enterprises later this month.
